Brother Blake Sargent

"If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen"
1 Peter 4:11

Growing up in church, my life has been filled with countless blessings, while experiencing God’s wonderous grace and mercy. I consider my life like that of Timothy, as I had both a mother and grandmother who prayed for me and the ministry I would grow into. They knew God had a plan and provided countless opportunities to be in church, not just attending but learning to serve.

The joy of music has been part of my family before I was born. The family would spend evenings singing and enjoying family time around the family piano! As the years by, new memoires were shared with the grandkids! Some of my favorite memories were those magical times around the piano at my grandmother’s house. Our family would share music and simply share how good things in life really are!

As I began developing my own feel for music, the doors began to open allowing me to use these talents and gifts early in life. While taking lessons from my mom, who was a songwriter and pianist who seemed to do amazing things with a piano, I learned more and more and continued to explore the piano! As years went by, I went to the viola and violin, playing with the piano every so often. As my life continued focus on music, I began studying voice and learning those fun harmonies. I played more instruments and even joined a southern gospel quartet before I graduated high school. I was recognized for music in many ways and continued to play for orchestras, singing with ensembles, and leading in the church.

As I continued into adulthood, I focused on my faith as I accepted Christ as my personal savior in High School. I began studying the Bible and learning about God’s plan for my life. I continued serving in music and orchestras and helping to lead music at my church. I took on Sunday School teaching as well but felt there was more that I needed to do.

After going through the fire and some difficult times, I found how God still had a plan for my life and found the doors opened again! Accepting the call to preach in January 2022, my first sermon was on the radio in Rockmart Georgia just 1 week later. Since then, God continues to provide opportunities to minister I share the gospel in song and in sermon.

As God opens doors, I continue to preach and share in sermon a few times a month while actively playing piano, organ, violin, singing, coaching other musicians and vocalists, and leading music as the spirit moves. God has been good!

MUSIC MINISTRY

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom;
teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and
hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
"
Colossians 3:16 (kjv)

Everyone has a special spiritual gift.  My wife and I love sharing ours with our church and in revivals.  From singing to simply playing a song to uplift our Lord and Saviour, we focus our music on tried and true scripture backed songs.

More about music Ministry...
Music is something that lifts our soul, knowing we are able worship and praise God completely. Music is something which has deep connections through my family and will continue to for year and lifetimes to come!  Following in the footsteps of my mother, I too am a songwriter. Composing and writing songs for several years, we enjoy sharing them through ministry opportunities. From piano and vocals to arranging music for sting musicians, we love finding time to share our gifts and talents as we collaborate ideas with others!  The foremost is sharing God’s gift with others, lead by the Spirit of God.

My wife and I have begun a new collaboration, while writing new songs based on scripture and God's encouragement.

Original Works:

Jesus Cares
Around my birthday in 2022, we lost my mom. In the weeks before, we were able to enjoy some special time together as we talked about songs which healed our hearts. This song was inspired by the phone call on Mother's Day, outlining her illness.  I walked in to the church and hit the altar.  My church family all stopped and we all prayed.
"you come inside, and try to hide, and hope that no one sees. You enter to the altar, and fall on bended knee..."

Good things in life - not yet released
Joint effort with my mom, Phyllis Kay Anderson, the piano part always kept me interested in this song! One of the songs she wrote in her younger years, this has been in our family since the 70's. Taking her work, adding a little more to reflect things of today, this song is already become a blessing as God is using it to encourage those around me.

Stand Up - not yet released
When God tells you to go and to do, He will provide a way. This song is something which was fun and brings a smile to my face in rehearsals.

Peace Album - not yet released
When God leads you, you know it is time to follow Him.  We are launching a soft instumental album later this year (2024) to help encourage and inspire others.
